la petite rouge

My previous business name was "Mongo Designs" however, over the past year I have not felt it represents me or what I want to produce in the right way. Therefore I have been brainstorming with a range of different ideas...

Thank you to the random guy at Novo Cafe last week for the name that has stuck.

My weekly routine is to walk the dog, Raffee, along Brunswick Street up to the park and then to Rose Street markets. I always wear my favourite red hoodie, with the hood up because it's cold. Last week a guy called out "hey look there's Little Red Riding Hood... and she has The Big Bad Wolf in tow!" I have been called Little Red Riding Hood many times, even by my students, so I don't know why I never thought of it before.

The loose French translation of Little Red Riding Hood is La Petite Chaperon Rouge, however, I've decided that might be too long. La Petite Rouge gets the message across quiet nicely. What do you think?

A is for Alphabet

"A is for Alphabet" is a children's book I am currently writing and illustrating. The first four images are on display at Ruck Rover and hopefully the complete book will be available in-store ready for Christmas.
Keep posted!

Cute As A Button

Cute As A Button is my new series of original art works of morbid child-like images. The original inspiration was  drawn from by my new little nieces. In particular, Josie's fascination with "Scare School"- I think she takes after her Aunty Amy.

This series will be exhibited in the Mini Art Mart during September, at Ruck Rover in Mt Lawley.

Check it out!

Día de los Muertos

Here is a collection of Art works I completed in 2008. Inspiration was from the Mexican holiday Day Of The Dead, or Día de los Muertos. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.

Prints of these original art works are available either framed or not framed. During 2009 they were sold in the boutique shop Libertine in Perth, Mt Lawley, but can now be purchased over the internet. Please contact me for more information.

Enjoy!
